BRABHAM

When Aurora film along side the post-production company Heckler made a documentary about the iconic Australian race driver Jack Brabham, 4 animations were created. From the chaotic beginnings of car racing to the well regulated competitions of today, the film takes us on a fascinating ride. It was the perfect occasion for us to play with the style and design of those different eras. It was a thrill to replicate the graphic vibe of the 50s, 60s and 70s.
Here are the animations with the interviews edited out.
So take a deep breath, fasten your seat belt, 3, 2, 1,  GOOO!

The beginnings.

It all started in the late 50s. It was a thrill for us to dive in that inspirational era of animation influenced by the emblematic productions of the UPA studio.

Ferrari domination.

Moving to the 60s we continued our animated journey influenced with the quirky characters of Wacky race and the beautiful racing posters of that time like Monaco.

The creation.

For The Creation we stayed in the 60s but this time we took a graphic approach inspired by the work of Saul Bass and his iconic title sequences.

The Sale.
Finally moving toward the 70s, we had a lot of fun reproducing the heroic fantasy univers of cartoons like  He-man and adapt it to the world of racing.
